The LMEC is a two-year Master of Science, entirely taught in English, and is part of the Graduate Program provided by the Department of Economics. It offers an excellent opportunity for students seeking a solid preparation in economics with the aim of entering the job market as professional economists or continuing to a Ph.D. program.
They will be guided through the program under close supervision from senior and junior academics of international reputation who are full-time members of the Department of Economics at the University of Bologna.

Considering an MBA? Interested in global business?

Consider a Global MBA from Webster University. Nothing compares to being there.

My name is Mike Douglas, and I graduated last year from Webster University’s Global MBA program. I went straight into the program after graduating from UCLA in 2008 with degrees in Economics and Global Studies. Webster University has a unique, truly one-of-a-kind program.

Students finish their MBA in 11 months in the Global MBA program, completing five 9-week terms, entirely abroad, in 5 different countries. It is the only program I have found that allows for complete immersion in five different countries and their cultures. The tuition includes books and an apartment in each country.

Students study alongside local MBA students who come from all over the world, and learn from leading professionals in their respective fields. Webster University has been established for decades in each of these countries, so the curriculum is completely streamlined.

The curriculum also includes a professional development component, corporate visits to multinational corporations located in each of these countries, and various other networking opportunities.

I really feel that the Global MBA program has provided me with a competitive advantage for my future, and having this on my résumé has set me apart from other candidates, especially in this tough economy. It has made me more well-rounded, not only by honing my business acumen and professional skills, but by developing me as a more complete global citizen. It has broadened my perspectives and has provided me with a truly global network of friends and colleagues. I earned my MBA while studying in some of the world’s most influential cities, immersing myself in five different countries and cultures, and developing myself personally and professionally for the future. It only took 11 months. Fellow Bruins, consider this opportunity.

Open House @ The Bren School of Environmental Science & Management on October 23rd

We cordially invite prospective students to join us for our annual UC Santa Barbara, Bren School Open House to be held at Bren Hall on Friday, October 23rd, 2009 from 9:30 am-6:30 pm. Open House is the perfect opportunity to experience the Bren community, UCSB, and the beautiful Santa Barbara area. Bren faculty, staff, and students will be available to answer your questions regarding admissions, academics, student life, financial support, housing, etc.

The mission of the Bren School is to play a leading role in researching environmental issues, identifying and solving environmental problems, and training research scientists and environmental management professionals. The master’s program, a central focus of the school’s educational mission, trains students to work in environmental careers in government agencies, corporations, nonprofit organizations, and consulting firms. The multidisciplinary coursework for the Master of Environmental Science & Management degree includes courses in natural sciences, social sciences, law, and business. The courses emphasize quantitative and analytic thinking, but also train students to identify environmental problems, formulate the proper questions, and design and execute appropriate solutions, taking into account scientific knowledge (and its limits), legal constraints, and the particular business and social contexts of the problem. Prospective students may learn more about our program at http://www.bren.ucsb.edu/

Prospective students should RSVP no later than Wednesday, October 21st via e-mail to: admissions@bren.ucsb.edu. When submitting an RSVP, please indicate which program (master’s or PhD) you are interested in. As a note, while the daytime events of the Open House are intended for our prospective students, guests of prospective students may only attend the community reception that takes place at the end of this day-long event.

PREPROBONO LSAT WEEKEND WORKSHOP
http://www.preprobono.org

Brought to you by Prime Produce (a NYC 501(c)(3) non-profit), PreProBono is providing a special weekend program for prelaw students in the Los Angeles area.

Location: TBA
Date: August 15 & 16 (Saturday & Sunday), 2009

Cost: $45 (scholarship recipients); $95 (financial aid recipients); $295 (non-scholarship or non-financial aid recipients). Note: our current scholarship acceptance rate exceeds 85%. Our financial aid acceptance rate has been and will remain at 100%. For more information, please read everything on this page.

Content: The 2 Full Day Workshop Includes:

100% Comprehensive LSAT Preparation

Saturday Dinner and Q&A with Guest Speaker (TBA)

PreProBono Prelaw Social Mixer and Alumni Network

Post Program Application Assistance

Class: Class will run from 9am – 6pm each day. The two day session covers the underlying theory of the LSAT and provides a comprehensive breakdown of each LSAT section and the attendant skills students need to master them. The student mixer, dinner and guest speaker event will take place following Saturday’s class.

Instructor: The PreProBono instructor for these sessions is currently attending Harvard Law School. He scored in the 99th percentile on the LSAT and is an ex-instructor for TestMasters, a leading nation-wide LSAT test prep company, which, in our humble opinion is excellent, but also expensive. He has over 2 years of experience teaching over 350 students. We’re not kidding around here, this is a severely discounted top quality LSAT prep course. Hear what past participants have to say about our program.

Not for Profit: 100% of the proceeds you donate to Prime Produce will be either donated to Prime Produce designated NPOs or to cover the operating costs of Prime Produce programming (like this one). For example, on January 5th of this year, Prime Produce funded the construction of a new playground for an orphanage run by the Nepalese Youth Opportunity Foundation. The instructor, the speaker and all organizers are volunteering their time! This cost includes the PreProBono Dinner and study materials.

SPACE IS LIMITED! SIGN UP NOW!
For more info or to reserve a space, please visit www.preprobono.org. Under “When/Where” click on Los Angeles, CA.

PreProBono is a program run through Prime Produce, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to entice creative and entrepreneurial scholars into the nonprofit sector.
