Transferring Coursework From another UC

UCLA honors the UC Reciprocity agreement stating that courses taken at any other UC will automatically transfer back here as UC units and those grades earned at another UC do factor into your UC GPA.

Note: transferring classes from semester system/Berkeley/Merced back to quarter system/UCLA will be done as a conversion; one semester unit is equivalent to 1.5 quarter units. (e.g. a 3 semester unit course will transfer back here as a 4.5 quarter unit course). It may not be easy to determine a precise course equivalent, especially if you are looking at semester versus a quarter sequence. Often, two of their courses, the entire year sequence, converts to our 3 courses, again the same year sequence. But when you break up a sequence per course it may be difficult. However, if you want the course that is as close as you can get, bring a list of Berkeley math courses (for example) to a UCLA Math Department counselor. They can help you figure out what will most closely transfer as the class you want.

The Education Abroad Program (EAP) offers students from UC’s the opportunity to study abroad as a visiting reciprocity student for one to two quarters or a year. If you are interested in applying for an Education Abroad Program, please visit the International Education Office in B-300 Murphy Hall or visit http://eap.ucop.edu/reciprocal_exchanges/ and www.ieo.ucla.edu/
