Sharpe Fellows Deadline Extension

We are extending the deadline for the Sharpe Fellows Program to November 10 due to a lack of applications received during the initial period.  We encourage you to apply for this program whereby some of you will be interviewed by our alumni Board of Visitors members, who will also make suggestions to help you present yourself in the best possible manner.

Although we will not be able to select all applicants and to place them in positions, this is an excellent opportunity for you to create your resume, cover letter, participate in a mock interview, and be ready to go when other interviews for summer internships begin next quarter.

With the economy in its current state and with many firms either going under or putting on a hiring freeze, including on internships, this is an opportunity not to be missed.

Sharpe Fellows Program Description

The UCLA Department of Economics and our alumni Board of Visitors are proud to announce the second year of our Sharpe Fellows Program for undergraduate internships.

Our program brings together top employers and our brightest undergraduate students. We invite you to participate in this program and benefit from having our distinguished alumni mentor you and help you to get matched up with an exciting summer internship.

We are looking for…

Well-rounded and ambitious economics majors who are eager to work hard to put themselves forward as the best that UCLA Economics has to offer top employers in finance, consulting, accounting, commercial real estate, and other areas.

The benefits for you…

The distinguished alumni volunteers on our Board of Visitors are committed to interview, coach, and mentor those undergraduates selected to interview for the Sharpe Fellows Program. These alumni will help you understand how to present yourself effectively to top employers.

The Department of Economics and our Board of Visitors will then help those students selected as Sharpe Fellows to get matched up in summer internships with the top firms in finance, consulting, commercial real estate, and other areas, that we have lined up to participate in this program.

The Sharpe Fellows Program will be a great way for you to distinguish yourself as one of UCLA’s best.
